PATHANKOT POLICE’S VIGILANT CRACKDOWN ON BOOTLEGGERS AND ROWDY BEHAVIOUR ENSURES PUBLIC SAFETY
POLICE ACT SWIFTLY TO ARREST TWO ACCUSED INVOLVED IN MOLESTATION CASE, AND SUCCESSFULLY UNEARTH LIQUOR SMUGGLING OPERATION AND SEIZED 14 CARTONS OF ILLICIT LIQOUR
Pathankot, July 31, 2023 Exerting a firm grip on unruly elements, the Pathankot Police took decisive action against bootleggers and disorderly conduct, effectively safeguarding public welfare and preserving the honour of its esteemed citizens. Demonstrating remarkable swiftness, the police swiftly pursued three distinct cases, ensuring that justice was served upon the wrongdoers. In an elaborate statement to the press media, Senior Superintendent of Police Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh revealed that specialised police teams have been established, overseen by Gazetted rank officers, in each sub-division of District Pathankot. Their primary objective is to combat nighttime crime swiftly and effectively, ensuring public safety and prompt responses during challenging situations. Additionally, to leave no room for uncertainty, comprehensive CCTV surveillance has been implemented to cover all vital areas. In the first incident, a complaint was received at Police Station Mamoon Cantt regarding the assault on Sudhir Sharma by two inebriated individuals while she was having dinner with her family at Jannat Resort. SHO Mamoon Cantt, Rajni Bala, accompanied by police under the supervision of DSP City Lakhwinder Singh Randhawa, responded swiftly and apprehended one of the accused on the spot. The arrested accused, identified as Rohit Kumar alias Gola, son of Yashpal, resident of Saili Kullian Pathankot, and Neeraj, resident of Pathankot, were involved in molesting Ms. Sharma. A case FIR No. 53, dated 30/07/2023, under section 354, 34 IPC, has been registered against the accused. In the second instance, a team led by SHO Rajni Bala raided Urban Estate Bar on a complaint. Mr. Ashwani Kumar, the owner of Urban Street Restaurant, reported that five intoxicated individuals visited his establishment, demanding beer despite the late hour.
