MLA & DC ASSURE RESIDENTS OF PROPERTY RIGHTS UNDER MERA GHAR MERA NAAM SCHEME
DIRECT OFFICIALS TO COMPLETE ONGOING PROCEDURE AT THE EARLIEST UNDER THE SCHEME, INTERACT WITH PEOPLE IN VILLAGES DABA AND LOHARA

MLA Ludhiana south Rajinderpal Kaur Chhina and Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik today assured residents of Daba and Lohara villages that they will soon get property rights under the Mera Ghar Mera Naam scheme as district administration has carried out a mammoth exercise to implement this scheme in letter and spirit in the municipal limits of Ludhiana. They said that district administration was all set to launch Mera Ghar Mera Naam scheme in the municipal limits of the city to provide property rights to people residing in the city areas.
They said that earlier the scheme was only implemented in various Tehsils of the District, which will now be started in the Municipal Corporation Limits of Ludhiana as well.
Giving more details, MLA Rajinderpal Kaur Chhina said that the revenue verification and drone survey would be conducted in coming days in revenue villages falling in Ludhiana south constituency comprising Lohara, Daba and other revenue villages. After the completion of this survey residents will get property rights, She added.
Divulging more, the deputy commissioner stated that the Mera Ghar Mere Naam scheme aims to provide Property Rights to the residents who are residing within the Lal Laqir areas where the Land Record has not been created. Absence of Land Record is a hindrance when it comes to sale of such property or while seeking a loan etc on such property, she added.
The DC also said that the Scheme has been enabled by the eactment of the Punjab Abadi Deh Act, 2021. She added that the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation would also provide provide human resources to enable speedy completion of the task as Ludhiana Urban being heavily populated requires the assistance of all available resources.
She directed the officials to accord top priority to this task and ang kind of inordinate delay would be highly unwarranted.
